MAP Warm-Ups

So, after discussions with several teachers at the end of last year, here's the thought:

Use the NWEA Learning Continuum to have a quick review of information before teaching math and reading.

Here's what I did:

I went with a low RIT band to start with (except K5 - I'll discuss yours with you! You need to focus on ABC's and 123's at the beginning of the year!) and looked at the "developing" part of the continuum. This is just to see what the students know and to get them into the routine of the review.

I will add work to this each week for you to use.

After we take the first MAP test, I will start making the reviews according to RIT bands. You choose the RIT band that the MAJORITY of your students are in. We won't be looking at the "developing" part of the continuum anymore at this point, but rather the "Introduce" part. Don't worry, I'm going to break it all down for you and show you what I'm talking about. ;)

FOR RIGHT NOW:

Find your grade level and print out the "Wk 1 Monday through Friday" portions. The tables are just there to show you what we will *hopefully* be reviewing throughout these first few weeks. I have placed the WHOLE DOCUMENT (all grade levels) below which I will update weekly. I will be emailing you your specific grade level each week. It's easier to update this way instead of uploading 7 files to the blog weekly.

Obviously, you probably won't be able to use the "Monday" sheet on Monday, but it's the easiest way I knew to keep it all organized for you. In other words, don't fret if you have to use a "Friday" page on a Tuesday. It is what it is. Life goes on...

Since this is a trial/Field Test of sorts, let me know what you like and do not like about it. Your suggestions are valued. I don't want to sit here for hours and make something that you aren't able to use.
