Reading Levels and Now What?

So here comes the number one question any teacher asks at the beginning of the school year - I don't care if you've been teaching 0 years or 30 years: What do I need to put into place week 1, day 1 in order for my students to be successful in my classroom?

This is actually one of those questions that I can confidently say I would answer the same way whether I was in the classroom or in my current D.O. position:

You need to figure out where your students are and you need to establish routines, procedures, and relationships with the students.

This can look very different depending on your instruction level simply because the way we analyze student data is different in each level. For this reason, I've broken this page into 3 separate links. You might find that, even within your page, your grade level is still different than the others. That's just the way this rolls. Bear with me. ;)
